The bigger picture

Industrial farming methods being used for our food production are harming the planet, biodiversity, communities and our health. We need more access to locally grown and responsibly farmed food sources. Soul Farm is an organic market farm in Cornwall that believes everyone should have access to fresh, local seasonal food improving their health and benefiting nature by:

  • Running a veg box scheme and market stall that supplies more than 740 people with fresh produce each week and supplying restaurants with organic, seasonal food.
  • Ensuring they farm organically, avoiding the use of chemicals to maximise biodiversity and the health benefits of their produce.
  • Introducing a sliding scale of payments for their boxes to enable them to donate food to people facing food insecurity.
  • Educating their community on the benefits of better food production.
  • Training new growers through annual market garden events and an internship program
  • Creating a wider impact on the farming sector as a whole by demonstrating success in organic food production.

Adele Jarrett-Kerr

Founder, Marketing and Social Impact Ex-officio Director

One of the founders of the farm and brings 12 years a of experience in freelance marketing, writing, PR and journalism. She now splits her time with Soul Farm and Soulcraft; facilitating young peoples creative expression. She has also worked as a counsellor for breastfeeding mothers and brings those social engagement and facilitation skills to the business.


Ian Brydon

Director and Farm Manager & Ex-officio Director

Part of the farm since 2022 and turning his attention to his sixth season commercial growing. Before that Ian spent a two years as a general gardener after a decade managing teams on boat crews and teaching in dive schools.


Jan Trefusis

Estate Manager at Trefusis Estate. Owner of walled garden and Soul Farm Chair.

As an involved member of the society since 2018, Jan really wants the Soul Farm to succeed and is very a supportive landlord. He abides by Soul Farm’s conflict of interest policy.

Current board member and advises on small business as she has run her own cafe and other businesses. 


Max Fontana-Revel

Board Member

Max moved to the area two years ago, and has a background as a Business Executive across sectors including design, manufacturing, e-commerce, IT, investment and blockchain. Max noticed that Hook Norton is a leading light in the area, in providing community projects and services to locals, and would like to do what he can to encourage this. He was keen to join the HNCLT Board to aid these local projects, alongside learning more about the community.  


Richard Brown

Richard has lived in Oxfordshire for most his life. He moved to Hook Norton in 2021, was married there, and his youngest child attends the village nursery. He has a background in the operational management of complex, public-facing buildings and has worked for a variety of outsourcing companies. He currently manages the facility operations for a prominent University. He joined the HNCLT board in 2023 to use his experiences to support local initiatives, and to be more involved in the village and assist in the running of long-lasting community-led facilities. .

Annabel Shawcross

Board Member

Annabel moved to Hook Norton five years ago but lived just outside the village for 16 years. Her three children went to both playgroup and the primary school and Annabel is an active member of many village groups. Annabel runs her own online gift business but before moving to Oxfordshire was New Media Communications Manager at the NSPCC, specialising in young people-facing communications, so has first-hand knowledge of the issues facing young people trying to find their way in the world, housing being a prime concern.

Anne Tutt

Board Member

Anne has lived in Hook Norton for more than 20 years. She is passionate about supporting the community and ensuring the village has sustainable, affordable housing for the future. Anne has extensive finance and governance skills. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years’ experience of board membership as both an Executive and Non-executive Director. She is a member of Council at Swansea University and a trustee / advisor to three charities. Until recently, she was Vice Chair of Oxford University Hospitals, which runs the Churchill, Horton and John Radcliffe hospitals and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

Interest accrual and payment

Interest accrues after the offer closes and is paid annually at the end of the financial year (if the board deems affordable).

Getting your money out

Shares are not transferable and withdrawing of share capital is subject to agreement by the board. Withdrawal requests will be considered after 2028.

Investing on behalf of children

Applicants must be 18 years old or more to participate in this offer. Investments cannot be made on behalf of minors.
