Golden Lane Housing transforms the lives of people with a learning disability, enabling them to live independently in their local community, close to family and friends, with support in a home tailored to their needs.
Golden Lane Housing was established by Mencap in 1998 to tackle the chronic housing shortage faced by people with a learning disability. Since then they have provided housing for over 1,600 people in 675 properties GLH either own or lease. Read more
Since registration with the HCA, Golden Lane Housing has published its accounts for 2015/16 in the RP format, restating its accounts for 2014/15. The net surplus year on year has remained at a similar level and, GLH was able to provide additional housing across the country

James has been great friends with Claire, Sarah and Elizabeth since school. All four have severe to profound learning disabilities. Since James was 14 his family have been planning for his future in the hope that the he can live as independently as possible with his three friends.
With the help of Golden Lane Housing and the capital raised in their 2003 Bond, James and his friends were able to move into a five bedroom Bungalow in 2013.
