The bigger picture

To meet our net-zero ambitions, the future of transport in the UK is electric. EVs produce 62% less CO2 emissions in their lifetimes than conventional fuel vehicles. With 11 million EVs expected on the roads by 2030, additional charging infrastructure is required.  

EZ-Charge is an Oxfordshire based charge point operator dedicated to providing reliable and straightforward EV charging infrastructure. The company is owned by Zeta, a business with over 30 years’ automotive electronics and solar solutions experience. Zeta is responsible for the design and manufacturing of the charge points. 

EZ-Charge have partnered with Oxfordshire County Council and the University of Oxford to develop the Park and Charge project in Oxfordshire. The partnership through EZ-Charge will install and operate 280 EV charge points in public car parks across Oxfordshire.

    Chairman and CEO

    Phil founded EZ-Charge in 2019, having founded and managed its parent company, Zeta, since its inception in 1989. Phil is a highly competent entrepreneur and innovator with the ability to identify customer requirements and match these to a commercially viable solution. He is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of R&D by continually pioneering new ideas within the electronics industry

    With over 20 years of experience managing large scale public and private infrastructure projects at JCDecaux, Mark has recently joined the EZ-Charge team in order to maximise the potential of the business and ensure we deliver the best product and service on the market. He is passionate about forging long-term partnerships and developing data driven solutions that focus on people, the planet and performance.

    Rose Smyth

    Chief Financial Officer

    Rose recently joined EZ-Charge having worked in a similar position for 18 years. Using her considerable previous experience, she is tasked with ensuring the company is compliant financially and implementing reports and controls for the effective and profitable running of the business.

    Peter Shadbolt

    Head of EV Operations

    Peter has worked for Zeta since he was 16 and joined the EZ-Charge team in 2020 to support the growth of the business, assist with software development and manage customer relations.

    Paul Tyrrell

    Chief Technical Officer

    Paul has a BSc in Engineering, is a co-founder of Zeta with Phil and has extensive product development expertise in electronic microprocessor design and power electronics. With a strong background in reliability engineering and solar power control systems, he has led the development of the EV chargers that have recently been installed at our pilot site in Bicester.

    Harmit Singh

    With over 10 years’ experience at Zeta, Harmit is an expert at solving technical issues. Harmit has an MSc in manufacturing, system engineering, a degree in electrical and electronic engineering, certificate in robotics and 18TH Edition, Part P, PASMA, PAL and CSCS card.

    Adrian Wood

    Senior Design Engineer

    Adrian is our software genius, with over 10 years’ experience at Zeta and over 20 years in product design in various fields such as medical, automotive and telecoms. Adrian has written all the complex code that operates the chargers and allows for their reliability and ease of use.

    Interest accrual and payment

    Bondholders will receive a fixed interest rate of 6% gross per annum on 31 December each year, with the first payment on 31 December 2022.

    Getting your money out

    Although, the Bonds are transferable and will be part of the Ethex secondary market bulletin board service, they will not be listed on a recognised stock exchange. An investment in an unquoted security of this nature, being an illiquid investment, is speculative and involves a degree of risk. It may not be possible to transfer or realise the Bond before the end of the term.
