Double success for Ethex investment offers

The team at Ethex are delighted to have successfully closed two impactful investment offers on the platform at the end of April.Share offers from Stroud Micro Dairy and Library of Things both hit (and in the case of Library of Things, exceeded) their target raise amounts.

Making borrowing better than buying

Library of Things have already been making waves in communities around London, where they are helping to reimagine high streets as community-powered places.  They achieve this through their mission to make borrowing better than buying, encouraging a more circular economy.

Library of Things launched a share offer on Ethex at the start of March and they passed their original target raise of £300,075 closing having raised more than £370,000! This funding will help this groundbreaking organisation to bring their lending libraries to more than 50 neighbourhoods by 2025. Investors in Library of Things are not only helping them tackle the cost of living crisis but stop thousands of tonnes of waste from heading to landfill.

Rebecca Trevelyan, Co-Founder says:
”We’re inspired and grateful to have the support of over 250 brilliant investors, and can’t wait to put the funds to work. We’ve had hundreds of communities and councils get in touch, and will partner with them to replicate this affordable, participatory item rental model, and provide a joyful alternative to wasteful consumerism”

Investing in better food production

Stroud Micro Dairy is an award-winning, community-supported, sustainable dairy farm that uses regenerative and ethical farming methods to produce raw milk products for the wider community.

They took the decision to take the farm into community ownership in line with the team's belief in running the business in a way that produces better, local food in an ethical way, rather than purely to generate profit. The success of their share offer, raising their set target of £225,000 means that the dairy can now be run as a co-operative, by and for the community that it serves.

Kees Frederiks, Founder of Stroud Micro Dairy says:
"Thank you to all who invested in the UK’s first community-owned dairy Coop. We are delighted to have you onboard and grateful for your support. We have an exciting few years ahead of us as we build out our vision for a cooperative Stroud Micro Dairy. We look forward to sharing this adventure with you and changing the face of local dairy."

A big thank you to all the positive investors who have made these offers a success and are creating a positive impact with their money. If you want to use your money to support extraordinary organisations, check out the open investment opportunities on the Ethex platform.
