Brighton & Hove Energy Services Co-operative (BHESCo) is a non-profit social enterprise whose mission is to empower everyone in England to meet the financial and environmental cost of their energy needs with efficient buildings and clean, affordable, community-owned energy.
Based in Brighton and Hove, BHESCo have delivered forty-two successful projects throughout Sussex and their reach is growing. They have the expertise to scale their offer throughout England and hope to become known the world over as a model for how energy needs can be met sustainably and affordably.
BHESCo is a consumer co-operative established to address causes of climate change and help consumers lower their energy costs by introducing energy-saving and renewable energy installations in communities, empowering individuals to take more control over their own energy supply. Read more
BHESCo’s income comes from the sale of electricity and/or gas, the Feed-in Tariff and/or Renewable Heat Incentive, project management and energy survey fees.
Since their first project in 2015, investors have provided £592k of funding, allowing BHESCo to complete 42 projects
Business and homeowners frequently wish to reduce the environmental impact of their properties but do not know how to go about it nor have the time to investigate it. BHESCo offers a turn-key service from the initial energy survey to post installation monitoring of the system, that delivers an energy efficient, cost saving and technologically advanced result, without impacting cash flows.
Installations in schools will provide educational benefits including monitors and data feeds explaining the operation and performance of the solar panels
