Join Ethex, with the Low Carbon Hub and Co Cars for an informal chat to let people learn more about these organisations who are continuing to make a real social and environmental impact, even in times of crisis, to ensure we are working towards a more sustainable future.

It’s organisations like Low Carbon Hub and Co Cars that can help to deliver the more sustainable community-centric economy that 91% of the UK population wants to see as we emerge from the COVID 19 crisis #buildbackbetter

Low Carbon Hub is a community-owned social enterprise that’s out to prove we can meet our energy needs in a way that is good for people and for the planet. They have created a portfolio of 45 renewable projects for Oxfordshire which can generate 4.4 GWh of green electricity and save 1,244 tonnes of CO2. LCH aims to increase the generation of green energy and deliver ground-breaking collaborative partnerships which are accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon smart energy system - one that can be replicated in other areas of the UK.

Co Cars are providing people across the South West with a clear alternative to car ownership. They have established a business which gives people affordable access to low carbon, on-demand, electric cars and bicycles - helping create a much greener and sustainable transport system. During the COVID 19 outbreak, Co Cars are making their e-bikes available free of charge to the police and hospital workers - helping them to keep socially distant. Co Cars have a very scalable business model and are currently raising investment to expand their organisation across South West England - providing even more people with access to sustainable transport solutions.

Both CEOs talk about their respective organisations, which are owned by the communities in which they operate and how their innovative approaches - with the right kind of financing - provide the innovative building blocks that the UK needs to build our economy back better.
