Low Carbon Hub are delighted to announce that they met their £1.5 million of new investment into the Community Energy Fund in just nine weeks.

Due to this unprecedented level of early support, Low Carbon Hub are extending their target raise to £2.5 million by 31 March 2021, so there is still chance for you to invest if you haven’t yet.

Financial performance

Low Carbon Hub is forecasting a 5% target interest rate per annum from the fourth year of your investment. The target rate for the first four years is 4%.

Social performance

The current Low Carbon Hub renewable energy portfolio is forecast to provide £2.5m of community benefit income over the current project lifetimes.

The Low Carbon Hub share offer document has been awarded the Community Shares Standard Mark. This Mark is awarded by the Community Shares Unit to offers that meet national standards of good practice. These standards ensure that:

  • You are provided with all the facts you need to make an informed decision.
  • The facts are supported by the annual accounts and/or business plan for the society.
  • Nothing in the documents is purposely incorrect, confusing or misleading.

Societies are asked to sign a Code of Practice requiring them, among other things, to give the public a right of complaint to the Community Shares Unit.
