Wester Derry Wind Co-op is aiming to raise £800,000 to pay for the installation of a 250kW wind turbine in the Glen Isla area of Perthshire, North of Dundee.

Wester Derry Wind Co-op has been set up to provide an opportunity for people in Angus, Perthshire and further afield to own and operate a medium-scale wind turbine generating green electricity. Read more

Financial performance

West Derry Co-op aims to pay members interest on average of 5.9% over the lifetime of the project with capital being repaid in equal instalments from years 4 to 20, at the directors' discretion. This gives an overall IRR of 7%, rising to 10.4% with EIS. Please note that this is a long term investment and returns are likely to be lower in the early years.
