  • Bolster the UK’s energy security by supporting the community-owned clean energy revolution.

  • Empower community ownership of homegrown renewable energy at scale to benefit local people and organisations.

The bigger picture

Kent Community Energy (KCE) has the potential to deliver clean, secure, and affordable energy to up to 1.57 million people across one of the UK’s most climate-vulnerable and energy-stressed regions. As one of the UK’s sunniest counties, Kent offers immense potential for solar power, and KCE is determined to turn that sunshine into long-term benefits for local people, the planet, and purpose-driven investors. They already have a strong solar track record, having:

  • Generated over 35 million kWh of clean electricity through its 5 MWp solar farm.
  • Saved an estimated 9,000 tonnes of CO₂ since commissioning.
  • Given £36,000 in community grants, helping local organisations tackle fuel poverty, improve biodiversity, and run green education programmes.

  • Now, they’re raising funds to bring even more community-powered solar projects to life. With installations already underway, their solar portfolio will support a wide network of local partners, creating real impact where it matters most.

What your money will do

Your investment in the Kent Community Energy Share Offer will:

  • Fund 400 kW of new rooftop solar installations across a pipeline of colleges, dementia centres, mental health charities, and heritage sites.
  • Prevent 150 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year (the equivalent to the average footprint of 30 UK households).
  • Deliver around 25% energy bill savings for community organisations, freeing up funds for care, education, and wellbeing.
  • Support KCE’s vision of shaping and strengthening the future of energy in the UK by empowering community ownership of homegrown renewable energy at scale.
