Your money will…

  • Take positive climate action by helping generate community-owned clean power, reducing reliance on polluting fossil fuels

  • Help flexibility for the grid through battery storage and release, easing pressure on the local network and making room for more renewables

  • Create lasting community benefit by adding to a fund that supports carbon reduction and energy saving activities

  • Target a financial return. Investments earn a 5% interest each year and will make you a member of Low Carbon Hub

The bigger picture

Low Carbon Hub is one of the UK's most established and trusted community energy organisations that’s out to prove they can meet our energy needs in a way that’s good for people and good for the planet. Since 2012, they have:

  • Built 55 community-owned renewable energy installations across Oxfordshire, including Ray Valley Solar, one of the UK's largest community-owned solar parks.
  • Raised more than £10 million in community investment from almost 1800 members.
  • Paid more than £3.3 million in interest to their investor members.
  • Reinvested over £2 million into community climate action.

  • They are now starting work on a new community-owned solar park with on-site battery storage in Oxfordshire to grow their portfolio, increase clean energy generation and the funding available for community benefit.

What your money will do

Your investment in the Low Carbon Hub share offer will:

    • Flow into the Community Energy Fund, helping to finance the build of Common Lot Solar and Battery Park.
    • Add new community-owned generation and storage to the grid, generating enough clean energy to power around 3,000 homes, saving about 1,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
    • Deliver around £6.3 million in additional community benefit funding over the project's 42-year lifetime - helping communities, homes, businesses and schools reduce energy bills and carbon emissions and driving forward the clean energy transition.
    • Make a powerful statement in support of community-owned clean energy.
