Why am I hearing from Ethex?

Reading Community Energy has appointed Ethex to provide registrar services for your Reading Community Energy investment. This means your records, documentation, and investor services will now be managed securely by Ethex.

When will my Reading Community Energy investment show in my portfolio?

Once you have registered you will see a portfolio page. Your investment won't immediately show in here, but we will add these in fortnightly batches as more people register. You will get an email when your investment has been matched with your account, and from here you will be able to see the share amount as well as manage payments and statements.

Do I need to pay anything to use Ethex?

No. Setting up your account and accessing your Reading Community Energy investment on Ethex is completely free.

Who is Ethex?

Why do I need to set up an account with Ethex?

 - Complete a short ID verification process.
 - Once this is done, you’ll have full access to your investment details via your Ethex dashboard.

What about share certificates?

If share certificates apply to your investment, these will be issued once you’ve completed the onboarding process. You’ll receive a notification when they’re ready. If you’d like a printable version, please contact registry@ethex.org.uk

What happens to my member payments?

You can choose where member payments are sent. Either directly to your bank account or to your Ethex wallet, where you can withdraw funds or reinvest in other opportunities.

What if the member has passed away? (Probate)

If you are dealing with the estate of a member, please contact probate@ethex.org.uk and our team will guide you through the probate process. We will need to see certain documents (such as the death certificate and Grant of Probate) before we can update the records.

Can I hold my investment jointly or transfer it to someone else?

Investments are usually held in a single name. If you need to discuss joint holdings, transfers, or making changes to who holds the investment, please get in touch at registry@ethex.org.uk

What if I change my bank account details?

You can update your bank account information securely in your Ethex dashboard at any time.

What if I already have an Ethex account?

If you’ve used Ethex before, you can log in with your existing account. Once you complete the ID check, your Derril Water investment will be added to your portfolio.

What if I don’t want to set up an Ethex account?

To continue receiving member payments and access your membership records, you will need to open an Ethex account. This is the only way we can provide you with secure investor services.
