Lisa Ashford

Lisa is a leader in the impact investment space with over 20 years of experience in energy and environmental markets. Director/Co-CEO at Ethex and Founder/Director of Energise Africa. Accompanied the PM on a trade mission to Africa in 2019. PWC scholarship recipient; Diploma in Financial Strategy, Saïd Business School, Oxford. MSc Environmental Technology, Imperial College. Regular media commentator on ethical investment (Sky News, BBC World, CityAM).

Chris Butler

As FD and Co-CEO, Chris looks after financial reporting and helps the team plan for further growth and impact. Over 30 years of experience — former Director & Head of Research, Martin Currie (global equity firm); CFO, Casemate Publishers; advisor to Christian Aid. "I count myself so fortunate to have a job that brings together what I have learned and enjoy about investment and finance, working alongside multi-talented colleagues to enable many more people to make their money do good."

Caroline Bault

Caroline is a Managing Partner at CounselRock Partners (hedge fund research & alternative investment consultancy). She was formerly MD Global Business Development at the CAIA Association. She has 30 years' experience across equity research, investment banking and hedge fund allocation and co-chairs 100WHF Women on Boards Initiative Europe.

Jules Peck

Jules is a social entrepreneur, a Senior Adviser to CISL and WBCSD and the Founding Director of Avon Mutual Bank. Jules has had a varied career working on sustainability and inequality in politics and policy in Westminster, with the UN and at the EC in Brussels. He has also advised many of the world's largest companies and worked in charities such as WWF as well as being a founding Trustee of Share Action. In addition to being an Ethex NED he sits on the board of a development charity and a charitable foundation.

Roberta Boscolo

Roberta is the Climate and Energy Lead at the World Meteorological Organization leveraging her expertise in climate science to enact a sustainable development agenda. She is also a member of the Expert Advisory Panel for the Earthshot Prize, a member of the bureau of experts on renewable energy for the UN Economic Commission for Europe. She has been recognised as a top 10 Sustainability Influencer, as one of the Global 50 Women in Sustainability (2023) and a 2025 nominee for the LUCE Awards.

Carly Wickham

Carly is the CEO of EdelGive/SIX (Social Innovation Exchange), reimagining how social innovation is funded, scaled, and sustained across the Global North and South. With 25 years at the intersection of innovation, finance, and social impact, Carly brings cross-sector fluency spanning FTSE 100 transformation, advising startups and scaleups, and civil society leadership. Carly is also a NED on Innovate UK Loans Credit Committee, evaluating a £250m portfolio supporting high-growth SMEs. She previously led innovation programmes at Capital Enterprise and Challenge Works (Nesta).

Hugh Davies

Hugh joined the Ethex Board in 2015. A former Director of Corporate Affairs at Three (mobile), he was previously Head of PR at Microsoft UK. He has extensive PR/advertising experience at Leo Burnett, Cohn & Wolfe, Hill & Knowlton (inc. Hutchison Whampoa, Hong Kong).

Debbie Pippard

Debbie has a background in the charity and voluntary sectors, encompassing roles as volunteer, charity CEO, Board member and funder. She was Director of Programmes at Barrow Cadbury Trust for 15 years, leading work on migration, criminal justice, economic justice and anti-racism and founding successful institutions and collaborations including the Funders for Race Equality Alliance and Economic Justice Brum. Prior to that she was Head of London Region at what is now the National Lottery Community Fund and spent 10 years in front-line and management roles in the NHS in East London. Board roles include chairing The Foundry, an award-winning conference venue and office accommodation for human rights and social justice organisations, and Global Dialogue, an international centre for funder collaboration on issues relating to human rights. Debbie brings her experience of funding and governance to Ethex’s board. She has a long-standing interest in gender and race equality as well as community engagement and sustainability.

Edward Milford

Edward has been an Ethex board member since 2016. He has 35+ years in independent publishing and is the former owner of Earthscan.

Stephen Lovell

Stephen is the Chief Product & Technology Officer at Pageant Media. He has 20 years in product management across Gaming, Insurtech, Fintech and CPG. An expert in digital transformation and global team-building across marketing, product and engineering.

Ellie Mann

Ellie Mann has worked in Project Management and Operations for over 15 years, working with teams for tech start-ups, sales consultancies, e-commerce giants, and national charities; focusing on streamlined processes and delivery.

Kritika Khemka

Kritika has worked in financial services for 10+ years, in areas across Risk Management, Operations and Finance. At Ethex, she oversees day to day management of the Operations team.

"I feel excited and privileged to work for an organisation that creates a positive impact by supporting communities and social entrepreneurs."

Ben Sharpe

Ben joined the Ethex team from Energise Sussex Coast, where he served as a Business Development Consultant/Project Developer focusing on solar and wind initiatives. His experience in the renewable energy sector is extensive, including nearly four years at Joju Solar as an Account Manager and Senior Account Manager. At Joju Solar, Ben managed key community energy and commercial clients such as Energy4All, EDF, and Ameresco. And before that, he was with Salix Finance, financing public sector energy efficiency projects.

Jeroen Huysinga

Jeroen has 35 years of global equities investment management experience. He spent 20 years as managing director at JPMorgan Asset Management. After completing a master's degree in charity accounting and financial management at Bayes Business School, he found inspiration in the social investment module and joined the Ethex team.

Paul Linares

An Investment professional with over 6 years of experience in debt origination, transaction structuring, credit analysis and portfolio supervision. Paul leads due diligence on potential investees— assessing impact, capital adequacy, asset quality, profitability, liquidity, leadership, and commercial viability.

Joe Berry

Joe has over 25 years’ experience in financing renewables and environmental infrastructure. For several years he was an Investment Director in Impax’s private equity team, leading on over €1bn of renewables acquisitions. He was also Impax’s Head of Asset Management, responsible for their portfolio of renewable energy assets. More recently he has worked for the European Commission, evaluating grant applications for the EU’s €40 billion Innovation Fund, one of the world’s largest funding programmes for innovative low-carbon technologies. Joe started his career in audit and corporate finance at EY and is a chartered accountant. He graduated in Engineering Science at Pembroke College, Oxford University.

Melissa Gilmour

Melissa is a seasoned business strategist and marketing leader with a strong focus on impact investing fintech and decentralised technology such as web3. She has held executive roles in both startups and established firms, driving launches and successful marketing campaigns in regulated B2B and B2C markets.

Her notable achievements include being on the founding team of a private markets liquidity platform She also played a key role in the go to market launch of The Big Exchange and supported the growth of Paragon Impact, a sustainable tech platform.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys learning about phytomedicine, yoga and nature as a detox from digital life.

Julie Dunn

Julie has more than 20 years of marketing experience and forms part of the Ethex marketing team responsible for creating compelling content to help more people learn about the fantastic organisations that raise finance through Ethex.

Rob Fielding

Rob works in the Marketing team. He monitors statistics for the Ethex website to ensure that existing users find it simple and easy to use. He also produces digital campaigns to make the public aware of Ethex’s positive investment platform and to encourage them to invest in it.

Prashant Shende

Working in financial services since 2019 and after spending over two years in Portfolio Management Operations at a major investment management firm, Prashant pursued an MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management with a focus on Sustainable Finance at the University of Exeter. In the Ethex team, he oversees and manages several key operational aspects, ensuring that our investors and organisations have an exceptional experience contributing to the impactful work we do in ethical and sustainable investing.

Hazel Ndungwani

Hazel joined Ethex in January 2026. She brings experience in charity operations, as well as project and stakeholder management, alongside over five years’ experience in the financial sector, which she is now applying within the not-for-profit space. At Ethex, she supports customer services, due diligence, onboarding, and process improvement initiatives. She is passionate about using her experience across both sectors to create positive impact for people and the environment.

Zawwar Taufique

Zawwar brings cross-sector experience in impact investing, education and financial analysis, supporting the operational foundations of mission-led organisations. He focuses on building strong systems, improving delivery processes and ensuring that investment and impact are aligned.
